Hayworth Equipment Sales has been a leader in health and safety innovation since we opened our humble doors in 1975.
Our Founders, Elmer and Doreen Schmidek built the family-owned and operated business on the foundation of safety, well-being and trust. From the moment that they towed in their equipment, they knew that their priority and focus would be to keep their extended family safe, every step of the way, bumper to bumper.
Hayworth values people, community and family. One of our core values is mindfulness which means that we are always conscious of our choices and actions and how we impact our community.
As a celebrated fixture in the Acheson Industrial Area community, we take great pride in selling, servicing and providing parts for trailers and trucks in the construction, oilfield, transportation and forestry industries. We equip staff, customers and stakeholders with the expertise, knowledge and tools they need to stay safe along their journey.
In 2006, the family’s second generation leaders formulated a safety program that would provide guidelines to implementing processes and education to help keep family, staff and customers safe on site.
The goal was to receive a formal Certificate of Recognition (COR) from the Government of Alberta, which would confirm our health and safety management system met Occupational Health and Safety standards. In October 2018, the Hayworth Safety Program was formalized and Hayworth received a one-year COR from Alberta Safety Council.
Since then, Hayworth has celebrated many milestones, including zero lost time incidents and zero WCB claims since January 2020.
We scored 100% during the 2020 Certificate of Recognition external audit and have seen our safety engagement principles successfully come to life on site.
The Hayworth team makes sure that all visitors are offered personal protective equipment, including a high visibility vest and safety glasses and we always ensure customers are accompanied by an employee who can share the Hayworth safety story.
Most recently, and one of our greatest achievements yet, is the recognition of our safety program and procedures by being selected as a Finalist for the 11th annual Canada’s Safest Employers Awards, the leading independent awards program for the occupational health and safety profession in Canada.
Presented by Canadian Occupational Safety magazine, the Canada’s Safest Employers Awards recognizes outstanding companies, organizations, OHS professionals and industry service providers from across Canada who go above and beyond in their commitment to workplace health and safety.
Our small but mighty team is extremely honoured to be recognized for our efforts in elevating health and safety in the workplace, but most importantly, we are happy knowing that our customers and team members go home safely every night to their families.
