Check brake drums, shoes, chambers, slack adjusters, wheel seals and bearings for wear or damage.

Suspension
Take a look at air bags, shocks, bushings, torque rods and leveling valves. Watch for worn components, damage and air leaks.

Air System
Check air lines, hoses, fittings, valves and glad hands. A small air leak in the yard can turn into a much bigger headache once you’re hauling.

Lights & Electrical
Test your stop, tail, turn and marker lights, and inspect your wiring, pigtails and connectors. With plenty of early mornings and late nights during harvest, good lighting matters.

Tires & Wheels
Check tire pressure, tread and sidewalls along with your wheels and studs. It’s also a good time to make sure your spare is ready to go.

Grain Trailer Components
Go over your tarp system, hopper doors, landing gear, mud flaps and other trailer hardware. Make sure everything operates the way it should before you need it.

If something is already worn, leaking, damaged or unreliable, harvest probably isn’t going to make it any better.
