In 2000, we launched Load a Loadline, a Christmas donation drive with one goal—to help ensure no one in our community went hungry during the holiday season. Inspired by a radio station charity drive, we set out to fill an end-dump trailer with non-perishable food and toy donations for the Parkland Food Bank and Santa’s Anonymous.
The community response was overwhelming. Year after year, residents and businesses came together to help fill the trailer, with generous donations pouring in at local grocery stores and drop-off locations.
What started as a Hayworth-led initiative quickly became a beloved holiday tradition, making a lasting impact in the region. Eventually, the Acheson Business Association took over the event, ensuring its legacy continued under a new name—carrying forward the same spirit of generosity and community support that first inspired Load a Loadline.
